Mustaine did grow up... eventually. I don't blame him for having hating Kirk Hammett or Metallica for that matter. they used the songs he wrote when he told them not to. he has every right to be angry at them. on top of that they replaced a songwriting genius like him with a crappy guitarist who can only do mostly shitty solos and make one good riff.
Mustaine's departure from Metallica was a cost-benefit tradeoff between his undeniable talent and the sheer fucking hassle he would cause. Metallica got big in spite of and not because of Mustaine. Hammett is a gent that rose above his taunts.
